How long have you been shooting for?
I’ve been taking photos for quite some time now! Originally, I was very into fashion and footwear, so I took part in a form of product photography. From there, I moved into portraits! Although I did enjoy it for a time, I slowly felt my style moving away from that aspect of photography. From that point moving forward, I began to explore landscapes and suburbia!
What was the moment when you found interest in photography?
The moment I found real interest in photography would have to be a trip to Greece/Italy that I took with my parents as our one ‘big’ family trip outside of the smaller roadtrips we did as a family! Seeing such a new and beautiful place really sparked that interest for me.
When did you start film and why did you stick with film photography?
My first experience with film was actually in college when two friends of mine were going out to shoot film in a nearby town. I brought my digital camera at the time, of course, and they asked if I’d like to borrow one of their spare cameras to give it a try. From that point moving forward, I fell in love with the look of film as well as the process! This love mixed with continually hanging out with friends who were shooting film really sealed the deal for me. My love of film stemmed not only from my very fun experience with it, but also the communal aspect of having a hobby to share with friends! After years and years of shooting film exclusively, it has grown to be my preferred medium in any situation. No matter what the occasion, I will always choose film! Shooting it is just as exhilarating now as it was when I first jumped in.
